Dear Parents/Carers & Students,

As we look ahead to an exciting year of growth at the College, we remain firmly committed to providing strong academic support to all students throughout the construction of our new learning facilities. While our campus evolves, so too do our study support offerings, ensuring every learner continues to have access to high-quality guidance, dedicated study spaces, and the encouragement they need to thrive.

We are pleased to share the approach to our Academic Mentoring Program for Term 1 2026, designed to meet the needs of students across all year levels during this transitional period.

After School: Academic Mentoring (begins Week 3)

Academic Mentoring will continue in 2026 with a refreshed structure to better support student learning:

Years 7 and 8: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3:15pm – 4:30pm*

Venue:  A Block, Level 1

Years 9 to 12: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3:15pm – 5:00pm*

Venue:  A Block, Level 1

These sessions will be supervised, with academic support provided by highly accomplished Academic Mentors - alumnae who excelled in their studies and achieved an ATAR of 90+. Their experience, enthusiasm, and deep understanding of senior study pathways provide invaluable support to current students.

(*Students will be required to sign in upon arrival and sign out before departing for home).

Morning Study Spaces

To further assist students in managing their study commitments, we are expanding access to morning study locations:

Futures’ Hub (Dedicated space for years 10–12): Open from 7:30am on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for quiet, independent study in the senior pathways.

‘The Nook’ – our new library learning space in 2026: Also open from 7:30am each morning, providing a quiet, independent learning space for students to prepare for the day ahead.

Mt Academy – Years 9-12 (begins Week 3)

After a highly successful pilot program in Term 4, 2025, we are also pleased to continue offering the Mt Academy Evening Study Program for students in Years 9 - 12. Held in the Futures’ Hub from 3:30pm to 6:15pm on Thursday evenings, this program provides expert, tailored academic guidance in a focused and supported environment. This is an excellent opportunity for all Year 9, 10, 11, and 12 students seeking additional targeted support as they navigate the demands of their pathway but is limited to 30 enrolments.

To learn more and enrol for Term 1, please refer to the information in this week’s school newsletter or click the following link: https://www.padea.com.au/service/mount-alvernia-college.

We are delighted to offer these opportunities and confident they will serve our students well.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we will ensure that 2026 is a year of strong learning, steady progress, and exciting transformation.
