Principals' Message 

Hello Parents and Friends,

We have had a great fortnight at Templestowe Park.  Last night we held our annual PFA School Disco in the school hall.  The Prep – Grade 3 disco kicked off the night at 5:00pm followed by our senior disco at 6:30pm.  The children had so much fun as they sang and danced to the latest hits and a few oldies.  Michael Jackson is still very popular!  We would like to thank Kate Claringbould and all our PFA helpers for organising and supervising the night. 

Last week, our fabulous Grade Prep students celebrated 100 days of school.  The theme was 'Up, Up and Away... We’re 100 Days Brighter Today!', and it was a sea of colour in our Prep rooms on the day.  We are so proud of our youngest students and what they have achieved in their first 100 days of school.  A huge thank you to Mrs Foudoulis, Mrs Tobin, Mrs Groth and Ms Michael for their passion for teaching our Preps and giving them the best start to their learning journey.  To learn more about the 100 Days of Prep celebrations and loads of other learning at TPPS please click on the ‘Learning @ TPPS’ section of this newsletter. There are so many amazing things happening at our school. 

Prep 2027 enrolment offers now made

Last Monday, enrolment offers were sent to prospective Prep 2027 families.  These offers need to be accepted by Friday 28 August. We ask that parents accept or decline these offers ASAP so we can ascertain our Prep intake for 2027. 

If you have not submitted your enrolment for Prep 2027, the portal is still open.  Families can click here to submit their digital enrolment.  To find out more about Prep 2027 at TPPS please click here.

The enrolment process and timeline for Prep 2027 is outlined below. 

• Please contact our school office on 9846 2700 to book a school tour with our Principal or Assistant Principals.
• Digital enrolments for Prep 2027 opened on Monday 20 April 2026.  Please click here to submit your digital enrolment.
• You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 28 August 2026. Please note – all in zone student enrolments are guaranteed acceptance. 
• We will invite families who have accepted their offer to participate in our Prep 2027 Transition programs.
• Prep students will commence school on Friday 29 January 2027.

Book Week Dress Up Day! 

We are so excited to be celebrating Book Week at TPPS from Monday 24 - Friday 28 of August.  On Thursday 27 of August all students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character for our special Book Week Dress Up Day!

We will be hosting a parade of all students at 9:10am and we invite our community to join us for this special event.

As part of our Book Week celebrations, the PFA have organised for TPPS to participate in the ‘Great Book Swap’ to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This is a phenomenal cause to support & helps raise the profile of reading for pleasure even more within our community. The Great Book Swap will happen on Thursday 27 August; the same day as our Book Week Dress Up Day.  To learn more about the ‘Great Book Swap’, please see the PFA section of this newsletter. 

Term 3 Sushi Day!

We are very happy to inform you that our first Sushi Day for 2026 will take place on Wednesday 2 September. 

The following Sushi will be available: 

·        Tuna Sushi $5.40

·        Chicken Sushi $5.40

·        Avocado Sushi $5.20

·        Cucumber Sushi $5.00

Each roll comes with one Soy Sauce. Any additional sauces are 40 cents.

All QuickCliq orders must be completed by Monday 31 August 8.00am. 

All cash orders are to be sent to the canteen by Monday 31 August 9.00am.  Please do not send orders to the office.

No order requests will be accepted after these times.

Student Free Day – Friday 28 August 

A student free day will take place on Friday 28 August. On this day, all staff will be undertaking professional learning about the Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support program (SWPBS) that we are implementing later in 2026.

Brain Food Information and Suggestions

We encourage all students to munch away on healthy snacks to fuel their brain during learning time. Robyn Dery (Accredited Practising Dietitian) has provided information and suggestions to families about how to adequately fuel their child for learning. 

Please find the information sheet from Robyn below. You will notice that a balanced and full breakfast is the most important factor in setting up your child for a successful learning experience. Please keep this information sheet handy throughout the year for guidance and suggestions for what is appropriate to nibble on during this period. 

Important – Please ensure that all brain food is placed in a small container rather than in your child’s lunch box.  There is not enough space on the student desks for lunchboxes during learning time.  Thank you for your cooperation. 

Principals' Award

At our assembly last week, we presented Armina A with the Principals' Award.  Armina is a very dedicated student, putting utmost effort into all areas of the curriculum. She has worked extremely hard to be an excellent mathematician. This is evidenced by Armina's impressive knowledge of multiplication / division number facts and her problem-solving skills, recently scoring 100% on the first Maths Explorer paper of the year.  Additionally, Armina is an accomplished writer, where she meticulously edits, revises and takes on teacher feedback to ensure that each piece is written to the best of her ability. 

Recently, Armina has also had impressive results outside of the classroom, finishing twelfth in District Cross-Country, earning her a place at Division, which is super impressive as a Grade 3 student. Furthermore, Armina is an accomplished gymnast and trains multiple times per week as part of a state development program. Her ability to balance all these commitments and passions, whilst always having a smile on her face is to be admired. 

Well done, Armina! You are a wonderful example of someone who lives the RRIPO values at TPPS.
