Welcome back to Term 2. One of the true signs of the changing season is the beautiful St Mark’s trees transforming into rich autumn colours - such a magical sight each year!
At the end of Term 1, 3/4N enjoyed a shorter kitchen lesson due to the Easter Liturgy. We went back to basics, practising our peeling, grating, cutting, and spreading skills to create our own delicious salad sandwiches. It was wonderful to hear students sharing how tasty they were and discovering new flavours. Beetroot was a surprising favourite for many!
This week, we will be making ANZAC biscuits, and we hope students might even bake another batch at home to share with their families over the weekend. We are looking forward to a productive term filled with fun and learning in both the kitchen and garden spaces.
A big thank you to the volunteers who have supported 3/4N. We truly appreciate the time and care you give. If you are interested in helping in the kitchen on Thursdays from 11:40am–1:40pm, please feel free to message me via Seesaw.
Arigatou!

Student Reflections:
Eva - For the dip group they made carrots and pineapple and cream cheese dip. For the bread group they made ANZAC cookies. I made the broccoli salad and finally the main meal group made a mash potato and tomato sauce. I am pretty sure that everyone enjoyed SA cooking.
Jasmine - Today we made mashed potatoes and ANZAC cookies.
Hailey - Today we made carrots and mashed potatoes. We had lots of fun but we all got a little tired. Others had fun as well and we are all going to eat together.
Jeslyn - Today at SAKG we made pineapple and spring onion dip with carrots.
Eden - We made Anzac cookies. I had so much fun.
Giselle - This week I was doing the dip and we cooked a pineapple and spring onion dip.
Jayden - Today we made mashed potatoes and basil sauce. I got the salt and washed the potatoes. After that I peeled the potatoes for an hour.
Federico - Today in SAKG I made ANZAC biscuits. A messy process with a yummy result. I loved how it felt like slime when we added the melted butter and sticky golden syrup. On the up side, my hand got all oily.
Yasmin - This week I was on dip. I was on salad. We used tomatoes and we used salad dressing and broccoli to make our salad. It was so fun making it as we were cutting and grating the garlic. I got to mix the salad dressing. It was so fun mixing it altogether at the end and that's what I did in week two.
Alek - Today I made a broccoli salad with cheese, broccoli and tomatoes. Eggplants were making ANZAC biscuits. Carrots made mashed potatoes and tomato sauce. Tomatoes made pineapple dip. It looks super yummy, so I hope that it actually is.
Oliver - Today I made mashed potatoes.
Louis - Today I made bread but I had to go to play therapy with my sister, but when I came back I had to melt the cheese into butter. I got to make ANZAC biscuits which was very fun.
