Year 9 student Noah Edwards won the Open Public Speaking Championship for the second year running with his prepared speech 'Rethinking the Education System' and his impromptu speech 'My Favourite Family Tradition'. He also competed in recital (2nd) , monologue (3rd)  and impromptu reading (2nd), his results giving him the highest aggregate for his grade (and another trophy!). He also placed first for his creative writing piece.

Micah Edwards won the Grade 4 aggregate trophy after his mime (1st), impromptu reading (2nd), humorous recital (HC) and recital (also HC). He also received third place for his creative writing piece.

And Year 7 student Emily Edwards received 1st for her monologue, 3rd for impromptu reading, and HC for her creative program and recital. In the creative writing section she also received 2nd for her story and HC for her poem.

Emily, Micah and Noah's mother Angela Edwards is a parent with a passion for the dramatic arts and offers drama club for primary aged students after school each Friday at LCS, so it's little wonder the family has done so well at the competitions, walking in their mother's footsteps! Congratulations to all!

Soccer Victory

Launceston Christian School capped off a sensational undefeated season with a thrilling 3–2 victory over St Patrick's College in Wednesday's NSATIS Junior 1sts Boys Soccer Grand Final.

After finishing the regular season on top of the ladder, LCS entered the decider with home ground advantage and a fantastic crowd behind them. St Patrick's proved a worthy opponent, setting the stage for an outstanding contest.

To finish the season undefeated and lift the premiership trophy is a salubrious achievement, and the first ever Jnr. 1sts Soccer title for LCS! While there were some standout individual performances, this was an awesome team effort, with every player contributing to a season to remember.

A huge thank you to Mr. Sam de Ruiter for his outstanding coaching and leadership throughout the season, and to the many parents, families, staff and students whose support created a fantastic Grand Final atmosphere.

Congratulations boys—undefeated, NSATIS Premiers, and thoroughly deserving champions!
