YEAR 5&6 HOOPTIME
*NEW DATE*
Due to low team-entry numbers for our Monday 30/6 date, our Year 5 & 6 HoopTime date has needed to be revised (please delete 30/6 from your calendars).
Our Senior teams will now play in their Year 5 & 6 HoopTime tournament on:
Tuesday 19th August (Term 3, Week 5). Venue: Nunawading Basketball stadium.
A bus will transport players to and from the venue.
Operoo permission emails will go out in Week 1 of next term. We will ask for volunteer helpers then to help coach and score their child's games.
As previously advertised, our Year 3 & 4 HoopTime date is set for Tuesday 16th September (Week 9) at Nunawading stadium.

SPORTS TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCES
Our Year 5 & 6’s had such a fun week last week at all of our Lightning Premiership sports tournaments. Lots of positives arising from their day of games. Here’s what a few of our students had to say about their own tournament experiences:
LP Football
The Lightning Premiership football day was amazing. We played other schools from our local district of schools. As a team, we had a lot of fun together and we all encouraged each other. My team did well and we came fifth overall. Phoebe.W (5B)
LP Netball:
Netball was an amazing experience. Having never played competitive netball before, I really enjoyed the new experience of playing against the other schools and having a fun time. Over the day we racked up an awesome 4 wins! Even though we lost the grand final, I highly recommend giving these types of days a try and playing to the best of your ability. Jude H. (6T)
The Netball Lighting Prem. day was so much fun. I loved how we got to connect more with the Year 5’s over the day, as well as learning a lot about each other's skills and strengths. Overall it was a great day filled, with both wins and losses. Edie S. (6T)
LP Soccer
Lightning Premiership Soccer was an amazing experience as we versed other schools and got to meet new people. I loved being center back and being defence in general. Our team did pretty well as we made it all the way to the semi-finals! Overall it was an amazing experience as people made new friends and everyone had a great time. Sam. J (5H)
Lighting Premiership was so fun and exciting, we did our best and we won two games, tied once and lost once. We made it to the semi-finals but sadly lost to Galilee. Either way it was so much fun. Evan. P and Jordan. K (6T)
Lighting Premiership was a memorable experience for me because I had lots of fun playing soccer with my friends. I am proud of myself and my team for making it to the semi final where we lost against Galilee; who ended up winning the Grand Final. I still had lots of fun that day and I'm looking forward to it next year. Jordan.T (5B)
