GREAT VICTORIAN BIKE RIDE
This year, the Great Victorian Bike Ride saw 88 McKinnon Secondary College students take on an unforgettable 376 km journey across the south-west coast in 5 days of riding. Our riders travelled from Mortlake to Koroit, continued on to Port Campbell capturing the 12 Apostles and Great Ocean Rd, and concluded their adventure in Camperdown.
Across the week, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and determination as they navigated long stretches of road, coastal climbs, and ever-changing weather conditions. The atmosphere across the campgrounds each night was outstanding, full of camaraderie, support, and plenty of laughs.
Completing the Great Victorian Bike Ride is no easy feat, and our Team MCK participants should be incredibly proud of their accomplishment. They represented McKinnon Secondary College with outstanding enthusiasm and maturity mixing with the general public and other school groups on the ride.
A huge thank you must go to the dedicated staff (Ms Bell, Ms Ponsford, Ms Sclarr, Mr Machin, Mr Stevenson, Mr Williams, Ms Weiss, David Harcourt, Warren Kennedy) who give their time to support the students throughout the ride and in the lead up, ensuring safety, encouragement, and plenty of good vibes along the way. We also extend our appreciation to parents and families for their ongoing support in the lead up to this event and as we passed through the finish line.
A special acknowledgement goes to Mr Adlington and Mr King for their extensive work in organising and coordinating this year’s trip, their efforts were instrumental in making the experience smooth, safe, and memorable for all involved.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making the 2025 ride such a memorable success!

SAILING CLUB
Students from Years 7–11 have been participating in our Extra-Curricular Sailing Club, where they are learning to sail and race dinghies on Albert Park Lake.
It has been a great opportunity for them to build skills, confidence and teamwork on the water.
