2026 INTERHOUSE CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL
Excitement is building as we count down to our Interhouse Cross Country Carnival. Just a reminder, the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival will run from 9:00 am to 11:53 am, after which students will return to their regular classes. Recess will be held from 11:20 am – 11:53 am.
We would love parents and supporters to join us for this exciting College event. For safety and security, all parents and visitors are required to sign in at the Visitor Sign-In Desk located at the front of the Hugh O’Brien Centre, where a wristband will be provided. We kindly ask that all parents and visitors remain within the designated spectator area throughout the carnival.
Our Mission Dei leaders will host a sausage sizzle during the Carnival to raise funds for their journey to the Ignite Conference.

Term 2 Sport Trials & Opportunities
Term Two is shaping up to be an exciting and action-packed term, with several Gala Days and Carnivals on the calendar. Below is a snapshot of upcoming team trials scheduled for the beginning of the term.
REPRESENTATIVE NETBALL TRIALS
All students interested in representing the College at upcoming netball carnivals are required to attend trials. Please see trial details below:

ALL SCHOOLS TOUCH FOOTBALL TRIALS
Trials will be held on:
- Monday, 20 April | 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm
- Monday, 27 April | 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm
Two teams will be selected to represent the College at the FNQ All Schools Carnival in Townsville:
- Open Mixed Team
Junior Mixed Team
The Open Mixed Team will also travel to the Gold Coast in Term 4 to compete in the Gold Coast Titans QLD All Schools Touch Football Carnival.

AFL QUEENSLAND SCHOOLS CUP
St Mary's Catholic College will enter four teams into the StreetSmarts AFL Queensland Schools Cup Competition again this year:
- Years 9/10 Girls and Boys
Years 11/12 Girls and Boys.
Training details:
- Wednesday (lunchtime) - starting Week 1, Term 2
- Mondays (after school) - starting Week 2, Term 2.

CISSA Volleyball Training
The St Mary’s Boys CISSA Volleyball Team will be holding training sessions on Friday afternoons for the remainder of Term 1 and throughout Term 2. Training will commence at 3:15 pm and conclude at 4:40 pm.
