Hi Families,

I hope you had a wonderful break and start to term 2.  Finding time to enjoy this glorious sunshine.

Term 2 Dates for the calendar:

Monday 18th May - District Cross Country (Qualified students - years 3-6)

Thursday 28th May - Year 4 Gala Day

Monday 1st June - Division Cross Country (Students that have qualified)

Thursday 11th June - Year 5&6 Gala Day

Congratulations Petra (Year 4)

On Thursday Petra competed at the SSV State Swimming Competition in the multiclass breastroke event.  She did an amazing job and came 2nd and won a silver medal! We are so proud of what she has achieved in her first swimming competitions this year.  

District Cross Country Team

We would also like to congratulate the following students that will be representing St James at the District Cross Country event on Monday 18th May at Ruffey Lake Park.  Parents should have received a permission form which details the day and has a map of the course.  I strongly encourage you (if they haven't been there before) to take your child to the venue to even have a walk around so they know what to expect (it is very different to the ground of SJV). 

Spotlight on Sport 

Last weekend, Olivia Y in year 4 was awarded a number of awards through her Little Athletics Club.  A silver PB medal (for 22 PBs over the season) and she also became an Achievement Award Winner in her age group.  A big congratulations to Olivia, it is so great to hear about the achievements our students make outside of the school environment.
