2026 Medicine - University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)
If you want to apply for medicine for 2027 you will need to undertake a UCAT assessment.
These are the important dates for UCAT in 2026:

Make sure you meet the WACE requirements
Ask school coordinators and managers if you have any questions.
Your school should have checked what you are enrolled in to make sure that you are studying the right subjects to get a WA Certificate of Education at the end of Year 12.
Download the WACE Manual and check any bits you are not sure of, or take it to your career counsellor/ year coordinator to check that you are enrolled in appropriate subjects.

Year 12 - Become a Swimming Instructor.
Instructors and Coaches in high demand.
Certificates III and IV in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation have been added to the skills shortage priority list. Australian Apprenticeships Priority List.
There is often a shortage of holiday swimming coaches. To get a swimming instructor job with us, you must:
- be at least 17 years old
- have a current CPR certificate
- have a swimming instructor qualification
- have a Working with Children Check, or have applied for one

Australian Federal Police online information sessions
Australian Federal Police will be at the Careers Expo
If you are interested in the law and law enforcement, consider the Australian Federal Police.
They respond to national and international threats. They protect critical infrastructure and look after our diplomatic community. The pay and conditions look good.
