AGRICULTURAL NEWS:

Year 9 Agriculture students getting hands-on!
Our Year 9 Agricultural students got some hands on experience this week while completing a range of practical livestock management tasks of Calm livestock handling techniques.
Students worked with a small group of White Dorper sheep and practised important industry skills including:
• Ear tagging
• Weighing
• Drafting
• NLIS scanning
• Record keeping
The sheep were kept calm as students applied their understanding of livestock handling techniques, learning where to stand in relation to an animal’s flight zone and point of balance to move livestock safely and respectfully.
It was fantastic to see students building confidence, teamwork and real-world agricultural skills.
