Kindergarten Family History - Mrs Barnes
Our Kindy historians had a special visit from Mrs. Barnes recently! 🌏 She shared amazing stories about growing up in Papua New Guinea, helping students compare life across cultures. There’s no better way to learn than through real-life connections! ✈️🇦🇺🇵🇬 Did you know that the plane at Amaroo Tavern used to fly for the PNG Defence Force, before retiring and ending up as a tourist attraction here in Moree!

Year 1 Learning Spotlight
In Year 1 this fortnight we have been learning about the different ways people communicate. Students used websites such as AUSLAN signbook and Queensland State Library to learn how to sign different words in AUSLAN. We even learned how to sign our names! We then borrowed some very special books that contain braille! It was so cool getting to feel the bumps and learning how to read and write our own names in braille. At the end of the fortnight, we will be using all of these skills to create a story using both forms of communication! How exciting!
