Withdrawals for 2027
We would like to remind all families that if your child is not returning to Friends’ in 2027 the procedure to withdraw a student is to provide one term’s notice in writing, via letter or email addressed to the Principal Esther Hill.
Therefore, notice is due by the final day of Term 3, 2026. If notification is received after this day, one term's fees in lieu of the notice period will be applied.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Enrolments Office on 6210 2286 or via enrol.office@friends.tas.edu.au to discuss.
School Survey Reminder
We understand there may be some survey fatigue following the recent Census, but we’d really appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the 2026 School Survey.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes and helps us identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement across Culture, Wellbeing, Learning, Community and Stewardship. It also includes questions about school travel and catering.
Please submit your response by Monday 17 August. The survey links were sent via email on Monday 10 August. A separate 2026 Canteen Survey is also available for families to provide feedback on our catering services.
Your feedback helps inform the School’s planning and future priorities. Thank you for taking the time to contribute.
Quaker Meetings for Worship
All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.
Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.
If you have any enquiries about the Children’s meeting please email the Clerk, Margaret Bywater.
Thursday Morning Meeting for Worship
Members of The Friends' School community are welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time, starting at 7.40am. Just come quietly in when you can and join us until 8.20am in the Hobart Quaker Meeting House, which is located just below the Middle School Office on Boa Vista Road.
Community Yoga – Returning in Term 4
Please note that Community Yoga will pause over the winter period and will return in Term 4. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the mat later in the year.
