Principal's Message

Julie La Bouchardiere (Assistant Principal)

Jackson School is a collaborative learning community for all. We aim to develop independence through safety, respect and responsibility. We aspire to offer authentic, quality educational experiences that develop futures, create opportunities and inspire student potential; enabling our students to be valued and contributing members of the wider community. We share and celebrate our successes and achievements.

The Issue Highlights

Dear Families,

Thank you to the team of parent helpers for your hard work in purchasing and helping to make our annual Fathers’ Day stall such a success and a special occasion. I am sure our dads / carers appreciated their gifts. It was a delight to see the students take the time to decide on a gift and take home their gift bags from school with such pride and excitement.

On Thursday 29th September, we also had the opportunity for a casual morning tea where a few parents gathered and shared stories.

Disability Inclusion

Our Disability Inclusion Profile Meetings are well underway. The Disability Inclusion Profile will help us learn more about your child’s strengths and needs, as the meetings have outlined the school wide and student specific adjustments we make for our students across the Domains of; Learning and Applying Knowledge, General tasks and Demands, Communication, Interpersonal Interactions, Self-care and Mobility.

Currently, we are having four meetings per week. Thank you to all parents for attending alongside the Education Department trained facilitator, classroom teacher, principal nominee, our allied health team and student.

Whole School Relationships and Sexuality Education

Michelle Zammit (Leading Teacher - Mental Health and Wellbeing)

In Term 4, we will be delivering Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) to students across the whole school. RSE is part of the Victorian Curriculum, mandated through the Child Safe Standards and compulsory for Victorian Government Schools (primary, secondary and specialist). Please read letter attached for further information.

We will be providing an information session to parents and carers that would like some further information about the program. The information session will be held at

Jackson School on Wednesday 18th September at 9.30am. Please let me know if you would like to attend for catering purposes via email to michelle.zammit@education.vic.gov.au or send a message to Michelle Zammit on SeeSaw.

Road Safety

A reminder about ensuring everyone’s safety when crossing the road on Mulhall Drive, please use the designated crossing and avoid dropping off children before 8:30am, as they cannot be supervised at this time.

Please read information about the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus on the following page, including a letter from the Premier and video from the Deputy Premier.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
