CITY OF GREATER BENDIGO - SCHOOL CROSSINGS

We have received many reports from our school crossing supervisors that unfortunately children are not dismounting from their bikes before using the school crossings. We ask if families could please remind children to dismount from their bikes on approaching the crossing as it allows them to pause and proceed with caution while using the crossing safely with their school crossing supervisor.

Many children are riding through crossings leaving little time for school crossing supervisors and drivers to react, placing themselves in unnecessary danger. We remind the school community that being safe around the school is everyone’s responsibility and to teach children to remain alert and focus on their surroundings when using the school crossing.
