Library

Recently year 7 student Jackson and his Grandmother donated a book to the school library, in honour of Jackson's Great Grandfather.

The book that was donated is a new release titled 'The Stable Boy of Auschwitz' and is a heart-wrenching and inspirational account of a courageous little boy who, against all odds, and after losing almost everything a human being can lose, survived to tell his story.

On the inside of the book is a personal note from Jackson's Grandmother which reads "This book is donated by Jackson Hickson-Richards to Wangaratta High School on the occasion of ANZAC Day 2024 in remembrance of his Great Grandfather Frank Maxwell Spackman who served in World War II."

We are so grateful to Jackson and his family for such a generous donation and we know it will be enjoyed by many students.

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now up and running at Wangaratta High School.   Students have already read 91 books with some nearly finished the challenge already.

I have 7 enthusiastic "challenges" although there are 15+ VPRC registered students who showed great interest in participating in the Challenge who haven't inserted a book review as yet.  I'd love them to start.

Could you please log into the VPRC site and start your challenge by writing your first book review?  If you need any help, I have copies of the instructions and please don't hesitate to chat with me in the Library.

To read the Premier’s letter to parents, view the booklist and for more information about the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge, visit: https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge

Looking forward to reading some fantastic book reviews.
