Week 5's Behaviour Focus: Using Technology Safely and Responsibly.

This week's focus is using technology safely and responsibly. Students are expected to use the tech given to them safely, which means not searching up things that are inappropriate or unsafe. This means children should not go to or search up unsafe websites. Some signs of an unsafe website include things that are too good to be true, asking for personal information, or having sketchy names like ‘Free Robux’. Students are also expected to use technology responsibly, which means that they are not meant to be playing games while they are working on a project. This also means that kids shouldn't cyber-bully because it can hurt their friends' feelings. Remember to be safe online!

Thank you!

Cluster Debating Success

This week brought an exciting start to the cluster debating season, and our students rose to the occasion with enthusiasm and skill. We’re delighted to share that both of our teams achieved a double win, showcasing not only strong arguments but also impressive teamwork and sportsmanship. The affirmative team travelled to Corpus Christi, while the negative team remained at Holy Family to debate against Corpus Christi’s visiting group. Despite being in different locations, both teams demonstrated excellent preparation and confidence as they tackled the week’s topic: ‘All schools should run a zero‑waste program.’ Throughout the rounds, our debaters presented thoughtful cases, delivered clear rebuttals, and supported one another with genuine cooperation. Their growing debating skills were evident in every speech. We also extend our congratulations to the students from Corpus Christi, who contributed strong, well‑reasoned arguments and helped make each debate engaging and competitive. We are incredibly proud of all students involved,  not only for the wins, but for the maturity, respect, and dedication they brought to the experience. With such a strong beginning, we look forward to seeing what next week brings. Wish us luck as we continue the season.

Word of the week - Courage

Gallery Image

Courage is the ability to confront danger, pain or fear with the moral or mental strength to do so. It doesn’t mean that you’re not afraid, it means that you’re able to act despite the fear you feel. Courage can be demonstrated any way and can happen in many different situations. You can be courageous at school, at the park and even at home. For example, if someone is being hurt by someone else, you can be courageous and stand up for the person.

Here are three ways that you can be courageous!

  1. Speak up for yourself or others - Try to use your voice when something is unkind, even if it may feel uncomfortable
  2. Try something new even if you might fall - You grow every time you step outside your comfort zone
  3. Be honest about your feelings - Be brave and be true about your feelings
