Another Term Nearly Finished! Again! 

Hi everyone, I hope all of you have had a great week so far. It definitely has been a hectic week at St Patrick's and like the heading for my weekly reflection, it is quite unbelievable that we quickly approaching the final stages of yet another term. While I was at Armidale for the Religious Education Coordinators Meeting, I was wondering where has the last nine weeks gone. But when I was listing all of the events that the students and staff members have been involved in, the last nine weeks have definitely been quite hectic but very rewarding. I was speaking recently to some of our Year 6 leaders and it is difficult to fathom that they only have just over one term left before they begin a new chapter in their lives and for our Year 5 students, excitement builds as I have heard some of them are already preparing their leader's speeches for next term.

Tomorrow our Years 3-6 students will be participating in the ACS Gala Day at Inverell and it is great to see that we are able to enter two netball and three soccer teams. Good luck to everyone involved, I know it is going to be a great day! Remember we will be having an early start as the bus is leaving the school at 7.00am and we should be returning around 4.00pm.  I have a funny feeling it is going to be an action packed day! 

Polding Athletics Carnival Wrap Up

Last Friday, five of our athletes—Audrey, Benji, Josie, Rebee, and Thibaud—travelled to Glendale to compete in the Polding Athletics Carnival, representing both St Patrick’s Primary and Armidale Catholic Schools. Competing against the top athletes from Catholic primary schools across northern New South Wales, our students demonstrated outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship on the big stage.

Our field event competitors delivered fantastic performances throughout the day. Josie led the way with a great effort in the Senior Girls Discus, placing 4th overall and coming remarkably close to a podium finish. In the Junior Boys High Jump, Thibaud cleared 1.20m to secure 7th place, while Audrey and Rebee both held their own in tough competition, each earning 16th place in the Junior Girls Discus and Senior Boys Discus respectively.

Rounding out the day's successes, Benji took on a demanding schedule on both the track and field. He finished 14th overall in the 12 Years Boys 1500m after placing 17th in the 12 Years Boys Long Jump.

Reaching this level of competition is a wonderful achievement in itself, and hearing how well our students represented our school makes the entire St Patrick's community proud. Congratulations to Audrey, Benji, Josie, Rebee, and Thibaud on their outstanding accomplishments!

K–2 Mass and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, tomorrow, Friday 18th September

K-2 students and staff members from St Patrick's will gather to celebrate Mass and the Blessed Exposition tomorrow, Friday, September 18th at midd. I warmly invite everyone to partake in this celebration.

Term 4 Major Excursions Update

Thanks again to most of our Years 3-4 parents who have already indicated that they would like their child to participate in the overnight excursion to Lake Keepit Recreation Centre on the 26th and 27th of November. Mrs Davey and myself will be supervising the students on this excursion.

Also, more information went home to all of our Years 5-6 families in regard to their major excursion to Canberra from the 2nd to the 6th November. Mrs Makeham and myself will be supervising the students on this excursion and looking at the itinerary, we are going to have a great time. 

Thank you to all the families who have paid the full costing (incorporated in the school fees) of all of the excursions. 

Canteen Helpers Desperately Needed!

Regrettably, we find ourselves in a predicament where the coordinators of the school's canteen are having difficulty securing sufficient volunteers to cover all the positions on the roster necessary for the canteen's operation every Monday and Friday. If anyone is in a position to offer assistance, we kindly request that you inform the school.

TERM 4 PUPIL FREE DAY

The commencement of Term 4 will take place on Monday, 12th October, which will be designated as a Pupil Free Day. Students are scheduled to return to school on Tuesday, 13th October. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

School Hours & Supervision

Teachers commence duty at 8:30am and finish duty when the last bus leaves St Patrick’s approximately 3:10pm.

Supervision begins at 8:30am in the COLA

School starts: 9am (Bell  - 8:55am)

Recess: 11:00am – 11:30am 

Lunch: 1:30pm – 2:10pm 

School finishes: 3.00pm.
