Thursday 10th September is RU OK Day, and whilst we should ask “are you ok” on any day, RU OK Day is a reminder about the importance of reaching out and checking in.
We invite our students and staff to wear a splash of yellow on Thursday 10th September (this is not a free dress day). We also encourage students to join in the conversation, participate in activities and ask their friends how they are.

A conversation can change a life.
R U OK? aims to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation to check in with them.
You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. If they say they are not ok, you can show them they’re supported and help them find strategies and resources to better manage the load. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.
We understand that for some, RU OK Day may bring up an array of thoughts and feelings. As always, we encourage our students to reach out to anyone they feel comfortable talking to.
Pip, our Mental Health Practitioner is here every Monday and Tuesday
