Book Week 2026

We are looking forward to celebrating Book Week 2026! Our theme this year is "A Symphony of Stories," and we have an exciting lineup of activities, competitions, and a special author visit planned.
Here is all the information you need to help your child join in the fun:
Book Week Competitions (K–6)
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are invited to participate in our creative competitions:
3D Book Diorama: Create a 3D diorama based on a treasured story depicting a favourite scene or character.
Colouring Competition: Sheets will be sent home this week.
Submission Date: All entries must be delivered to the Hall on Friday, 21 August.
Annual Book Week Parade
- Date & Time: Monday, 24 August at 9:15 am.
- Dress Up: Students (K–6) are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. Pre-schoolers are also welcome and encouraged to dress up and join in!
- Parent Viewing & Winners: Parents and carers are invited to view all competition entries in the hall directly following the parade. Competition winners will be announced at the end of the parade.
Visiting Author: Sami Bayly & Book Orders
We are thrilled to host natural history illustrator and author Sami Bayly! You can pre-order signed copies of her wonderful books for your child.
How to Order Online:
- Visit the Larrikin House Online Store or scan the QR code on the order form.
- Add your chosen books to the cart.
- Important: In your cart, enter your child's STUDENT NAME and CLASS NAME in the text box below the total.
- At checkout, select "School Event" to receive free delivery directly to the school.
- Books will be collected at school during the author event.
