Group 18

We have had a fantastic start to the term, with students settling back into their routines and engaging enthusiastically in a range of learning experiences. 

It has been wonderful to see everyone building confidence, developing independence, and enjoying time with their classmates. This term, we have been focusing on important life skills such as cooking, packing school bags, and hanging clothes. These practical activities help students develop independence and confidence while practising everyday skills they can use at both school and home. Reading has also been a major focus. 

Students have been working closely with adults to explore a variety of texts while building their literacy, communication, and comprehension skills. Our class theme this term is Feathers and Fur, and students have enjoyed learning about different animals through stories, discussions, and engaging classroom activities. In mathematics, we have been exploring statistics through hands-on learning. Some students have been collecting, sorting, and presenting data while developing their ability to discuss and describe what they have discovered. 

We have also continued to build language skills across all learning areas by encouraging students to communicate their ideas, make choices, and interact with others throughout the day. One of the biggest highlights of the term has been the opening of our brand-new playground. Students have loved exploring the new equipment and have embraced opportunities to climb, balance, play, and socialise with their peers. The playground has quickly become a favourite space that supports physical development, confidence, and positive social interactions. We are looking forward to another exciting and rewarding term filled with new learning experiences and opportunities for every student to continue growing.
