Dear Yarrabing School Community,
Positive start to Term 3
As we reach the halfway point of Term 3, it is wonderful to reflect on the positive start our students have made and the many opportunities for learning, growth and connection that have taken place across our school.
There has been a strong sense of purpose and enthusiasm in classrooms, with students demonstrating curiosity, persistence and a willingness to challenge themselves. I am particularly proud of the way our students continue to support one another and contribute to a positive and respectful school environment.
Mid-term is also a valuable opportunity to pause and recognise progress. Learning is not always about achieving the final outcome; it is also about the small steps along the way - asking questions, trying again, developing new skills and becoming more confident and independent. I encourage our students to recognise and celebrate these achievements.
Our staff have been working hard to provide engaging learning experiences and to ensure that every student is supported to reach their potential. I thank them for their commitment, care and professionalism. I also thank our families for the encouragement and support you provide at home. The partnership between home and school remains one of our greatest strengths.
With several weeks still ahead, there is much to look forward to. We will continue to focus on quality teaching and learning, student wellbeing and opportunities for students to participate, lead and make a positive contribution to our community.
As we move into the second half of the term, I encourage our students to maintain their focus, embrace new challenges and continue to demonstrate our school values in all that they do.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community. I look forward to celebrating further successes with you as Term 3 continues.
Your feedback is important to us - 2026 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. Families will be sent their individual pin in an email latter this week with their details and their pin to allow for your response to be accessed.
The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17 August and close Friday 18 September 2026.
A large random sample of families have been invited to participate in the survey.
The survey is conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey is available in English and ten other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents/caregivers/guardians who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to the school directly for survey guides in your language.

Year 9 and Year 10 Subject offering for 2027
As soon as we finalise the teaching program and recruiting program for 2027, students and parents of Year 9 and 10 will be notified of the course selection process and outcomes for next year.
