Catholic Identity Leader: Mrs Elizabeth Trewick
Many of our families will remember Fiona Oakley, a devoted teacher and treasured friend within our community. Fiona was called to eternal rest in January 2026. As a faith community, we give thanks to God for her life, her generous service to the education of countless children, and her deep commitment to St Joseph’s School and the Rochester community.
Fiona’s time at St Joseph’s Primary School will be remembered with deep gratitude for her dedication to education and her faithful service to our community. She lived the Gospel values of kindness, compassion, and respect, forming strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Fiona was a teacher who was firm but fair, holding high expectations while ensuring every child felt known and supported. Through storytelling, creativity, and a love of the arts, she brought learning to life and nurtured each child’s gifts. Fiona’s generous spirit and quiet faith have left a lasting legacy of love, service, and connection that will remain in our hearts.

Loving God,

we thank you for Fiona’s life
and for the legacy she leaves behind—
a legacy of kindness, dedication, and genuine human connection.
May we honour her memory
by living with the same care, generosity, and compassion she showed to others.
Hold Fiona in your eternal peace,
and continue to bless our St Joseph’s community
as we carry her spirit with us always.
Amen.
