Religion

We have had a wonderful couple of weeks filled with community spirit, vibrant celebrations, and deep reflections on our shared faith.

Pentecost: Celebrating the Birthday of the Church

Last week, our community gathered for a beautiful Whole School Pentecost Mass, wonderfully hosted by our Year 5 and Year 6 students. Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and is affectionately known as the "Birthday of the Church."

Our senior students did a fantastic job of leading the liturgy, helping us reflect on how the Holy Spirit ignites our own gifts to share with the world. To bring the joyful celebration to a perfect close, Fr. Paddy had the entire congregation join together to sing a spirited rendition of Happy Birthday to the Church!

A special thank you must go to our Kindergarten and Year 5 students, who worked hard to provide the stunning flame decorations for the sacred space. The bright reds, oranges, and yellows beautifully symbolised the tongues of fire from the Pentecost story and brought our church to life. Thank you to all the families who joined us for this uplifting celebration.

Congratulations to our First Eucharist Candidates

On Sunday, 31st May, our community shared in an absolutely wonderful celebration as 19 students from our school and parish received the Sacrament of First Eucharist. They were beautifully supported by three of their classmates who walked this faith journey alongside them, showing the true spirit of companionship.

It was a deeply moving and grace-filled day. The children were exceptionally well prepared, demonstrating immense grace, respect and reverence throughout the Mass.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Paddy, Fr. Hart and Mrs. Salmon for their time, dedication and guidance in preparing the children for this special sacrament. Please keep these students in your prayers as they continue to grow in their faith.

St Vinnies Winter Appeal & Pyjama Day

Looking ahead, we are launching our annual St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal to support those in our local community facing hardship during the coldest months of the year.

To kick things off with some warmth and fun, we will be holding a Pyjama Day on Friday, 3rd July. Children are invited to come to school snug in their favorite PJs in exchange for a gold coin donation.

Alongside this, we warmly invite families to contribute donations of warm winter items over the coming weeks. We are collecting both new and good-quality second-hand items, including:

  • Jumpers and jackets
  • Warm blankets
  • Sleeping bags

A gentle reminder: If donating pre-loved items, please ensure they are clean, in good condition, and free from any rips, tears, or stains.

All physical donations can be brought directly to the school office from now until the end of the term. These items will be formally presented and donated to our local St Vincent de Paul branch during our Whole School Mass on Friday, 3rd July at 9:30 AM in the church.

Thank you in advance for your incredible generosity!
