Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Families,
Prayer for World Mission Sunday
Loving God,
Thank you for the gift of community and for the love that surrounds us.
Help us to share Your love with others, near and far,
and to care for those in need with kindness and generosity.
Bless all missionaries and those who work to bring hope, faith, and compassion to communities around the world.
Guide our hearts and hands so that we may live Your mission each day.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen
World Mission Sunday Mass
All Sacred Heart families are warmly invited to join us this Sunday, 18 October, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church for our World Mission Sunday Mass.
World Mission Sunday is a special opportunity to reflect on how we can make a difference in the lives of others, both near and far. It reminds us of the importance of kindness, generosity and compassion, and of our shared responsibility to care for those in need.
As a school community, we are encouraged to put these values into action through the small but meaningful ways we support, include and care for others in our everyday lives.
Following Mass, families are invited to join us for tea and coffee in the school Multipurpose Room. It will be a lovely opportunity to connect with one another and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes Sacred Heart so special.
We look forward to seeing many of our families there.
Parents & Friends Morning Tea Invitation
The Parents and Friends warmly invite all families to join us for morning tea in the Sacred Heart staffroom from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Tuesday, 20th October 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect and celebrate our school community.
We’ll also take this opportunity to share ideas and discuss two upcoming events
🗳️ Victorian State Government Election – Saturday 28 November
💃 School Dinner Dance – Friday 11 December
Our School Dinner Dance will be held at 6.00 pm at Preston City Hall, 284 Gower Street, Preston 3072.
Congratulations Kaone!
Congratulations to Kaone, who represented Sacred Heart Primary School at the Northern Metropolitan Region (NMR) Primary Track and Field Championships after qualifying for the 200m Sprint. Kaone ran so fast and did an amazing job. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and the way he represented our school.
A heartfelt thank you to Mark and Davide for accompanying Kaone on the day and supporting him throughout this wonderful opportunity.
Well done, Kaone! We are so proud of you!
A Heartfelt Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our school photography and video day such a success. Sacred Heart looked absolutely beautiful, and I am so proud of our staff, students and families for the care, effort and enthusiasm you brought to the day.
The MACS team also congratulated us on what a beautiful school we have, which made me incredibly proud.
Thank you for helping showcase what makes Sacred Heart so special. It is our wonderful people and strong sense of community that truly bring our school to life.
Octopus Schools quick update
Thank you to everyone who completed the parents travel survey as a part of the Octopus Schools program. The survey is now closed and the winner of the prize draw will be contacted by Darebin Council.
The information you have provided will go a long way in informing the council of our needs, wants and issues around travelling to school safely and building on active travel.
Now the council will work on creating the draft ‘legs’ map and assess potential infrastructure improvements, which we will discuss in our next catch up later in the year with the council.
Collecting Plastic Lids
For STEAM lessons this term, I am collecting plastic lids for future activities such as building wind powered vehicles. We will need lots of plastic lids from milk, juice or soft drink containers. If you have any of these or would like to help by collecting the lids from the containers you use, it would be very much appreciated. Send the lids to school with your child to give to their teacher. Thank you very much.
Denise Esposito
Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead.
Warmest regards,
Antoniette Stasi
