Parents and Friends News

Letter from Kevin
Parents & Friends (P&F)
At St Carlo Borromeo, our Parents & Friends (P&F) group plays a vital role in supporting our school community. The P&F exists to help create the best possible environment for our students through fundraising, community events and activities that enrich school life. We warmly welcome any parents who would like to become involved in any capacity.
The P&F works to:
- Build a strong sense of community by organising and facilitating events and activities
- Raise funds to support the school in purchasing resources, improving facilities, and enhancing opportunities for our students
Members of the P&F are required to:
- Support school leadership and ensure all activities align with the school’s Vision
- Act with integrity, care and diligence, always placing the interests of the school first
- Respect confidentiality and maintain appropriate boundaries
- Declare any conflicts of interest
- Ensure all activities comply with child safety requirements and the MACS Code of Conduct
- Hold a current Working with Children Check and complete required volunteer training
- Engage respectfully and positively with all members of the school community
- Uphold and protect the good name of St Carlo’s at all times
All funds raised by the P&F are used to support the school and benefit our students, as determined by the Principal and School Leadership Team.
St Carlo’s P&F has a strong tradition of parent support, most recently led so successfully by Tina Callea. As we move forward this year, I am extremely grateful that Vicky Kourtis has accepted my request to be the facilitator of the P&F, together with Rebecca and Joanne. These parents have worked closely alongside Tina and other parents in many school initiatives and are familiar with our regular events.
All parents are warmly invited to attend our next P&F meeting, to be held on Tuesday 28 April at 2:30 p.m. in the staffroom.
At this meeting, we will be discussing upcoming plans and welcoming new ideas. We also hope that parents will be able to support some of our Term 2 events, including the Mother’s Day Stall and Sausage Sizzle.
Thank you to all our parents for your continued support of our wonderful school community.
Kevin Gleeson.
