Principal's Message

Thanking Our Year 6 Tour Guides and Our Wonderful Community
Over the past four Open Days, our Year 6 students have done an outstanding job as tour guides, welcoming prospective families with confidence, pride and genuine hospitality. They represented our school so beautifully, and we are incredibly proud of them. We also loved seeing our students dressed as Stella the Star, greeting families with big smiles and adding a joyful touch to each Open Day.
Our tour guides play such an important role in showcasing who we are as a school. Their warmth and enthusiasm help prospective families see what makes St Anthony’s a truly special place for children to learn and grow.
A heartfelt thank you to Noelle and Koula in the office for all their preparation and behind‑the‑scenes work to ensure each Open Day ran smoothly. Thank you as well to the staff who stayed after school to open their classrooms, share learning and speak with visiting families.
We are a lucky school and we are blessed with a great community that works together to welcome new families and build strong enrolments for the future.
Celebrating Our Idle Off Campaign in the News!
We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our Idle Off campaign has been featured in a published article, an incredible recognition of the positive change happening right here at St Anthony’s.
This achievement is a testament to the passion and dedication of Dr Fiona Foo and Dr Anthony Hull, whose drive to create a cleaner, healthier environment for our children has inspired our whole community. Their leadership has helped transform our drop‑off and pick‑up zone into a quieter, cleaner and safer space for everyone.
St Patrick’s Day Liturgy – Thank You Year 2
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Miss Claffey and our wonderful Year 2 students for the outstanding St Patrick’s Day liturgy they led yesterday. It was a truly moving celebration of faith, culture and community.
The 'Our Father' prayed in Gaelic was especially touching, as were the Irish song and prayers woven throughout the liturgy. The children performed with such reverence, confidence and joy. For those in our community with Irish heritage, or a close connection to Ireland this liturgy would have held particular meaning, though it was deeply felt by all who attended. We are so proud of our Year 2 students for the care and spirit they brought to this special celebration.
St Patrick’s Day Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral
Yesterday our Year 6 leaders had the privilege of gathering at St Mary’s Cathedral for the annual St Patrick’s Day Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP. It was a meaningful and memorable experience for our students, who represented St Anthony’s with pride and reverence. We are grateful to our Year 6 leaders for the respectful and enthusiastic way they participated in this special celebration.

SCECS Vacation Care program
Open Afternoon - Years 2–6 Concept & Real‑World Problem Inquiry Presentations
Students in Years 2 to Year 6 are engaging in a rich inquiry cycle where they select a real‑world issue or concept and investigate it using Kaplan prompts. These prompts guide students to think beyond the surface, considering multiple perspectives, ethical implications, patterns and connections.
We encourage all parents to attend the upcoming presentations on Tuesday 31 March from 2:10-3pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how students are applying research skills, organising information and communicating their findings with confidence.
