F1 Australian Grand Prix

On Thursday, 5 March, VET Automotive students attended an excursion to the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix – Driving Learning Program at Albert Park.

During the event, students explored the Innovation Tech Hub, where they gained insight into advancements in automotive engineering and technology. Exhibits from organisations including the Australian Defence Force, Motorsport Australia – E Sports, and several universities provided valuable information about career pathways and emerging technologies within the automotive and motorsport industries.

Students participated in a range of activities, including pit stop challenges and Formula 1 driving simulators. In addition, they enjoyed on-track displays featuring Porsche Carrera Cup and V8 Supercars.

Special mention to Vivan Shah, Arman Hajihashemi and Natania Kumarapperuma for their entry in the Green Grid STEM Challenge. Students produced a five-minute video outlining sustainable opportunities that Formula 1 could introduce within its pit stops.

This excursion provided an engaging learning experience and a lasting impression on students who attended.
