Student Leadership Update

School Captains: Myah, Seb, Ivy & Henry

G’day everyone, we are your school captains giving you updates on events that have been happening!

Yesterday the year 3, 4, and 5 girls went to Matthew Flinders for a pickleball excursion. First, they walked all the way to Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College and learned a bit about pickleball before they started. Pickleball is a mix of tennis/badminton/table tennis. They got their rectangular wooden bats and started playing! They got to play against Queenscliffe and other Newtown groups. It was a great experience!

We are doing Freezy Fridays again! The Zooper Doopers are $ each at the canteen. And are being sold at lunch. One per person!

Last Wednesday we had our annual Art Show, where all the students' art was on display. There was also a Smashville burger truck and a sausage sizzle. There were some amazing performances from students and even our school chaplain, Melissa.

School swimming was two weeks ago and everybody had a lot of fun building up their swimming skills! On the last day, we had to use our survival skills in the water while fully clothed, it was a good challenge. It was reported that Newtown Primary was very respectful.

Graduation is coming up way too quickly! The year 6s have already started planning their speech! It will be an amazing night with some amazing speeches and awards to come.

That wraps it up for this fortnight.

Thanks everyone!
