COMMUNITY EVENTS
There is always something happening at Orchard Park! From celebrating recent events together as a community to looking ahead to exciting opportunities still to come, we love creating moments that bring our students, families and wider community together.
OPPS ANNUAL TRIVIA NIGHT
What a fantastic evening our 2026 OPPS Annual Trivia Night was!
Our "Around the World" theme certainly didn't disappoint, with tables going above and beyond to represent destinations from across the globe. From incredible costumes and creative table decorations to delicious themed food and plenty of friendly competition, it was wonderful to see so many members of our Orchard Park community come together for such a fun-filled evening.
Events like these simply wouldn't be possible without the support of our amazing Parents & Friends team and the many volunteers who generously gave their time behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you also goes to everyone who attended, donated prizes, organised tables and helped make the night such a success.
The funds raised through events like our Trivia Night continue to support opportunities and resources for our students, and we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing generosity of our school community.

BOOK WEEK – Symphony of Stories
Book Week is almost here and the excitement is certainly building across Orchard Park!
Our annual Book Week Dress-Up Day and Parade will be held on Friday 28th August, with the parade commencing at 9:00am in the Gymnasium. We warmly invite all families, grandparents and younger siblings to join us as we celebrate one of our favourite events on the school calendar.
There is always something incredibly special about seeing our students proudly arrive dressed as their favourite book characters, celebrating the stories that have inspired them and sharing their love of reading with our school community.
As part of our annual Book Week celebrations, we also ask each family to donate one new, age-appropriate book for their child's Learning Community. These books become a valued part of our classroom libraries and continue to be enjoyed by students for many years to come. Please avoid activity or single-use books so that every student has the opportunity to enjoy your family's contribution. Each donated book will receive a special bookplate recognising your family's generous gift to our Learning Community.
We can't wait to celebrate another wonderful Book Week filled with creativity, imagination and, most importantly, a shared love of reading. We look forward to seeing our Orchard Park community come together for another unforgettable parade.
FATHER'S DAY COMMUNITY BREAKFAST
We are looking forward to welcoming all fathers, grandfathers and special family guests to our Father's Day Community Breakfast on Friday 4th September 2026, from 8:00am–8:30am in the Gymnasium.
This special morning provides a wonderful opportunity for students to spend some quality time with the important people in their lives before the school day begins.
Guests will enjoy a light sweet breakfast of muffins while taking the opportunity to view student work displays from Visual Arts, STEM and other specialist learning areas, along with the thoughtful Father's Day gifts students have been creating.
We're also excited to have a coffee van onsite for the morning, with drinks available for purchase for those who would like to grab a coffee before heading off to start their day.
A formal invitation with further details will be sent home via Compass shortly. We hope you can join us for what is always a very special morning in our Orchard Park community.
SCHOOL EVENTS
There has been plenty happening across Orchard Park over the past week, with students enjoying engaging learning experiences both in and beyond the classroom. As we look ahead, there is still plenty to be excited about, with more memorable opportunities just around the corner.
YEAR 6 – SMOOTHIE BAR INCURSION
Our Year 6 students recently participated in the exciting Smoothie Bar Incursion, an engaging hands-on experience that brought their Business & Economics learning to life.
Working collaboratively in teams, students designed, created and marketed their very own smoothie businesses. Throughout the day they explored the process of developing a business idea, considered customer preferences, calculated costs, designed marketing materials and pitched their products to others.
The incursion was a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their classroom learning in a practical setting while developing important skills in teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and financial literacy. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm, innovation and collaboration on display as students embraced the challenge of becoming young entrepreneurs for the day.
FATHER'S DAY STALL
Our annual Father's Day Stall will be held on Wednesday 2nd September.
All students will have the opportunity to visit the stall and choose from a range of wonderful gifts to take home for the special people in their lives.
Each gift is $5 (cash only).
A huge thank you to our incredible Parents & Friends team for once again organising this much-loved event. Their ongoing support helps create special memories for our students each year, and we sincerely appreciate everything they do for our school community.
YEAR 4 CAMP
The countdown is officially on!
Next week our Year 4 students will be heading off to Phillip Island Adventure Resort for what promises to be an exciting few days filled with adventure, challenge and plenty of fun.
Camp provides students with so many valuable opportunities to develop independence, resilience and teamwork while creating lasting memories with their classmates. Throughout the experience, students will challenge themselves through a variety of outdoor activities, work together to overcome obstacles and continue building the strong friendships that make our school community so special.
We know our Year 4 students are eagerly anticipating the adventure ahead, and we wish them an amazing camp experience. We can't wait to hear all about their favourite moments when they return!
A very big thank you also goes to our dedicated staff who generously give up their time away from their own families to make these opportunities possible. Camps simply wouldn't happen without their commitment, care and enthusiasm.

COMMUNITY FEEDBACK
At Orchard Park Primary School, we are always looking for ways to improve, and some of our best ideas come directly from our school community.
SCHOOL PHOTOS
Earlier this year, we changed our school photography provider following feedback from families about previous years' experiences.
Late last week, a Google Form was sent home via Compass seeking your thoughts on this year's school photos. We would greatly appreciate every family taking just a couple of minutes to complete the survey.
School photographs capture precious memories, and your feedback will help us ensure we continue providing the very best experience for our students and families.
MATILDA JR. PRODUCTION
A second survey will also be sent home regarding our recent Matilda Jr. production.
This year's production looked a little different, with performances held over multiple evenings, and we would love to hear your thoughts about your experience. Understanding what worked well and where we can continue to improve helps us plan even better opportunities for our students and community in the future.
We will also be collecting feedback from our student performers, whose perspectives are equally important as we reflect on this year's production.
We sincerely hope our community can spare a few moments to complete both surveys. Your feedback plays an important role in helping us continually refine what we do and ensure Orchard Park Primary School continues to grow and improve each year.
