Specialist Subjects

DigiTech - Cameron Taylor  

Students will learn to follow, describe and represent algorithms involving sequencing, branching and iteration. They will also learn about how to use digital tools to collect, represent and organise different types of data. 

Art - Carmel Fitzgerald

Grade Four children will use materials and techniques to express their ideas in artworks, including a digital artwork creation.  They will also continue choosing the best materials and techniques to create their artworks.  Students will discuss how artists express their ideas in artworks from a range of cultures and traditions.  

Music – Stacie Mason

This term, students will explore music from other cultures, learning to sing and perform with instruments as well as dance. They will explore the meaning and origins of those songs. Students will be invited to share with the class any songs that hold value or importance in their lives. If any parents would like to share with us, please contact Mrs Mason.    

Science – Lisa Ryan

Students will explore the Earth and Space topic of Weather and Climate. They will investigate how weather and climate affect the land, air, water and living things, and explore Australia’s diverse climate zones. 

Students will also examine how human activities influence the climate and discover practical ways they can help care for the environment and promote a more sustainable future.   

Indonesian – Bu Jacqui 

This term in Indonesian we will revise vocabulary that students’ have learned over the past few years with a focus on using it to create and understand questions, talk about themselves and hold simple conversations. 

PE - Danielle Coates & Class Teachers

We will continue to prepare for the athletics sports. The remainder of the term will allow students to explore how they can transfer their fundamental movement skills (FMS) to a range of sports, movement concepts, and activities. 

Our invasion games unit will provide excellent opportunities for this, with a focus on court and field sports such as netball, basketball, hockey and AFL.
