Spiritual Connections

Loving God,

We lift our hearts to You.

Behold, you make echoes in our hearts:

“I make all things new!”

Renew our lives, cleans our spirits, and guide us with Your love.

In Your loving transformation, may we find strength, hope, and everlasting joy.

Amen.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is coming up on the 11th November. As a school we will hold a remembrance service, starting at 10:45am, out the front of the school. Parents are welcome to attend this service.

As a part of the Tatura 150th celebrations at school, the children were asked to design a postcard promoting Tatura. The postcard below was designed by Ruby Draper in Grade Four. It links beautifully with Remembrance Day coming up.

Sacramental Program: Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist

The Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist will be taking place on Sunday 17th November.

Over the past two Sundays, the sacrament children have been presented to the parish at Mass. Our parishioners loved seeing the children and their families at mass, and will continue to pray for them during this time.

Zooper Doopers

Zooper Doopers are continuing to be sold at the second break each Thursday. The cost is $1.00 each.

As a part of our Catholic tradition, in the month of October, we raise money for Catholic Missions. This organisation helps to support communities in need throughout the world. The money we raise will go a long way to helping the work of Catholic Missions.

Children can purchase a zooper dooper for themselves or another family member. We ask that they don’t purchase them for friends.

Thank you for your support.

Tatura 150th Liturgy

Week Two was a busy week at Sacred Heart. It was a time for us to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the settlement of Tatura. A number of activities took place over the week to help celebrate this important occasion. The Middle and Senior classes visited the Tatura Museum to learn about the history of our town. A dance festival of ‘old’ and ‘modern’ dances took place on two afternoons, and all children took part in an activity where they designed a postcard to promote living in Tatura. When next down the main street, keep an eye out for some of these great postcards as displays have been set up in both supermarkets as well the bakery closest to school.

Thank you to the staff at the Tatura Museum, as well as Alana Brown (dance teacher) for helping to lead activities during the week.

On Friday 18th October, the whole school attended a special liturgy in the church, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the settlement of Tatura. This was an opportunity to look back on some of the changes that have taken place to the physical layout of our school site as well as give thanks to God for the blessings we receive living in a special community like Tatura. The liturgy was led by Mr Mac and Senior school leaders.

Below are some photos from the liturgy, as well as some photos of Sacred Heart from the past.
