What's happening in Term 1

 Premiers' Reading Challenge

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC) is back for 2026!

The Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge is a state-wide initiative that encourages children and students across Victoria to discover the joy of reading.

The Challenge supports literacy development, builds reading confidence, and encourages students to explore books they may not have chosen independently. Whether your child is an emerging reader or an avid bookworm, the VPRC provides an exciting opportunity to celebrate reading achievements. The challenge was due to start on March 2nd, however there is a delay with the website being ready. As soon as it is open logins and instructions will be sent home.

We look forward to another fantastic year of reading in 2026 and encourage all students to take part!

ARADA

Hi! I’m Arada, one of your 2026 Library Captains. I love reading, hamsters and art and when I’m not at karate or school you’ll find me reading in the most random places. My favourite books are definitely the “Wings of Fire” series with the runner up being “Keepers of the Lost City”. I have tons of ideas to make the library a better place and hope these thoughts can leave a lasting legacy here at Karoo Primary School.

February Window

Thank you to all the students who helped make the February “Reading is Sweet” window so lovely. Hearts were created detailing favourite books, kind sayings or what they loved about the library and could be seen spilling out of the lolly box. Great work team!
