KLA Feature - Languages

Our Year 7 students have excitedly embraced learning Japanese which, for most students, is very new to them. Students have already learnt how to introduce themselves in Japanese, have been introduced to analog and digital earning tools and are about to start learning the hiragana characters!

Year 9 students have begun the year by reviewing and revising what they learnt when they were in Year 7. They have had fun making mini films using the Year 7 content. Year 9 will soon be embarking on new content to broaden their skills

Year 10 are enthusiastically developing their skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening. Students who participated in the 2025 Japan Study Tour are very confident in class and their confidence has spread to the whole cohort. Furthermore, the class loves having our exchange students, Yuri and Shiyu, in class for authentic language exchange.

In the senior school, we have a number of students studying languages via distance education provided by NSW School of Languages. While it is challenging to learn online they are all working towards their language learning goals.
