Welcome!

Rebecca Hall, Executive Principal

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school year for 2026! Whether you are new to Donvale like me, or it is your 51st year as part of our college community or anywhere in between, on behalf of the college staff, it is my joy to welcome you back for 2026. We are thrilled that you are part of our community and eagerly look forward to partnering with you in the Christian Education of your children.

As we step into a new school year at Donvale Christian College, I am delighted to share our 2026 theme: Anchored in Faith, Courageously Wise. This theme reflects the heart of our mission and vision—partnering with Christian families to holistically nurture students who grow academically, spiritually, and personally, and who learn to serve Christ in every area of life.

Being Anchored in Faith reminds us that true wisdom begins with God’s Word. As Paul teaches in 2 Timothy 3:16–17, Scripture equips God’s people “for every good work”. Likewise, Romans 12:1–2 calls us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. At Donvale, we want students to experience this transformation—to understand the gospel deeply, to know that their identity is secure in Christ, and to build their lives on the unchanging truth of Scripture.

To live Courageously Wise is to help students develop the discernment, character, and practical understanding that Scripture calls the skill of living well in God’s world. Proverbs teaches that wisdom requires intentional pursuit, humility, and a teachable heart (Proverbs 2). And Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages us to trust the Lord wholeheartedly, promising that He will direct our paths. These are the qualities we hope to see formed in every student—wisdom that is active, relational, and courageous.

This theme will shape key priorities for 2026: vibrant learning environments, authentically Christian teaching, opportunities for students to deepen their faith, and a commitment to excellence, not for self-promotion but for God’s glory. These reflect the essence of our mission and vision: cultivating understanding, faith, character, and service.

Thank you for partnering with us in this important work. We look forward to seeing how God will continue to grow our community this year as together we raise young people who are firmly anchored in faith and courageously wise in the way they live, love, and learn.

You will notice some changes to Schoolbox as we continue to refine our use of this platform to improve the user experience. I encourage you to regularly read our fortnightly newsletter, ‘Networks’, and check the Schoolbox calendar so that you don’t miss the wonderful opportunities to connect through your participation and presence at events this year.

I have appreciated the very warm welcome that has been extended to me as I officially commenced at Donvale Christian College last week and I look forward to meeting you, our Donvale families, at some of our upcoming events.
