Mr Phill Holding - Assistant Head of College – Students

AIC Track and Field Championship – Friday 9 October

On Friday 9 October, our Years 7 and 10 students will be joining our Track and Field team at Qld State Athletics Centre for the Track and Field Championship. This is a compulsory College event for all Years 7 and 10 students.

All Years 7 and 10 students (excluding those in the Track and Field squad) will be required to meet at the grandstand at 8:35am. Rolls will be marked and the group will travel by bus to the Championship.  At the conclusion of the event, students will return to the College prior to 3:10pm.

Students are required to meet College expectations regarding dress and personal presentation. Students must wear full summer uniform including a formal hat. Students who are unable to meet the College uniform and grooming standards will not be attending.

Students will be required to bring their lunch with them. Boarders will be supplied with a lunch bag for the day. Please ensure your son brings a water bottle and sunscreen.

If students need to bring a bag, please ensure it is a small Marist bag. We are encouraging students to leave bags at home or in their locker. Normal school rules apply around the use of mobile phones. It is expected that students will return to school in time to access their lockers.

Kangaroo Bus Lines School Bus Travel – Student Registration and Bus Pass Requirements

A reminder to families that students travelling on Kangaroo Bus Lines (KBL) school bus services must be registered to travel, have a valid KBL bus pass and have sufficient funds loaded onto the bus pass to pay the required fare. The bus pass will either be a TransportME Brisbane Bus Lines or Kangaroo Bus Lines branded card.

Students must present their bus pass when boarding the services that travel through to Upper Kedron, Ferny Grove, Samford, Dayboro, Eatons Hill, Albany Creek and other surrounding suburbs. Marist Student ID cards are not valid for travel on KBL school bus services and cannot be used in place of a bus pass.

Marist Student ID cards are only valid for travel on the privately contracted MCA 1 and MCA 2 services.

From the commencement of Term 4, KBL will be more actively monitoring compliance with these requirements. Students who are not registered to travel with KBL and cannot present a valid bus pass or pay the applicable fare may be required to find alternative travel arrangements.

Families are therefore asked to ensure that their child/ren are correctly registered for travel with KBL, have their valid bus pass available whenever they travel and have sufficient funds loaded onto the bus pass to pay the required fare.

If your child only occasionally uses KBL school bus services, we encourage you to check their registration and bus pass arrangements before they travel.
