From the Assistant Principal
Amelia Busuttil
It was wonderful to return to work this week after my two weeks' leave. Thanks to Melissa Jacobs for filling the role of Acting Assistant Principal in my absence. I've appreciated visiting classes across the school and seeing our teaching and learning routines going from strength to strength.
Year Six Student Leaders
On Friday, we took the opportunity to formally present our Year Six student leaders to the school community. We appreciated our federal member, the Hon. Mark Dreyfus KC, and our state member, the Hon. Tim Richardson, attending our ceremony and presenting each student with their badge, accompanied by a certificate of recognition from Mark.
Each student has started the year well, learning the different requirements of their role, supporting their fellow leaders and proposing possible improvements.

This week our Year Six students received their uniforms. It's been great to see them wearing their uniform at school and taking pride in their design.

Year Three & Four Swimming
Our Year Three and Four students have shown great self-organisation each day in attending their intensive swimming program. Thank you to our staff and parent/carer helpers for supporting the students on the bus and at the pool. We have heard many of you are masters at fitting swimming caps.
A reminder that the Year Three & Four students have their final session on Tuesday 31st March.
Foundation and Year One Incursion
This week our junior students hosted separate wellbeing incursions. The Foundation students focused on wellbeing and the Year One students focused on team building. Thanks to all of our students for demonstrating respect to the presenters and for their commitment to get involved.
House Athletics
Our annual Years 4-6 House Athletics carnival will be held at Dolamore Oval in Mentone on Monday. We look forward to each of our senior students aiming for their personal best, cheering on each other and respecting their teachers and our parents & carers across the day. Thanks to Katie Scott, our PE teacher, for all of her organisation that will make the day a success.
And as the saying goes, 'time flies when you're having fun', next week is the final week of Term One. A reminder that school finishes at 2:30 on Thursday 2nd April. Assembly will commence at 2pm and, following this, students will be dismissed from their classrooms.
