Inclusion at APS

World Hearing Day
Thank you to Shanaia and Evie from Year 4 (supported by Michelle our Visiting Teacher for Hearing) for their presentation at assembly about World Hearing Day.
"Good afternoon APS
Hi, I am Shanaia
And I am Evie
We are two of the SRC reps from Year 4.
You might be asking what SRC reps are.
SRC stands Student Representative Council.
We are here today to talk to you about World Hearing Day, which was last week on the 3rd of March
Butterflies are the symbol for hearing loss in Australia
This is because butterflies can’t hear, but they feel through vibrations.
World Hearing Day is for people to understand about kids who have hearing loss.
Here are three pro tips that you can use at school
Use captions on all your videos
Have at least 5 minutes of quiet time every day
And try to use sign language as much as possible
Here are two signs we can teach you today.
So, this is thank-you (use the sign)
And this is listening (use the sign)
If you have any questions, come and find us in Year 4 or in the yard.
Thank you for listening
Bye"
