As we finish Term 1, students across the school have been busy completing their Visual Arts projects. Our Foundation students have been exploring shapes by designing and creating shape robot collages, learning how simple shapes can be combined to create imaginative characters.

Students in Years 1/2 explored self-portraiture, creating their own crazy hair portraits. They experimented with an exciting technique using food dye and straws to blow vibrant, textured hair designs.

Our Years 3/4 students have continued their exploration of precious rocks and minerals, learning about opals and geodes. They are currently creating beautiful watercolour geode artworks, focusing on colour blending and pattern.

In Years 5/6, students completed their colourful Mulga-inspired fruit characters and are finishing the term by designing their own unique deck of playing cards, considering traditional card features while adding their own creative themes.

We are still happily accepting donations of blank CDs (without printed designs) for an upcoming etching project and sewing thread for a hand sewing unit next term. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed materials to support our art program.
