👀 What’s happening with P&C?

The 2026 P&C post AGM year just kicked off and now after the Term 1 break, we’re into planning mode. This means taking a moment to bed down new processes and technology, to set goals, and to review the extras PBSS needs, and the experiences P&C can help deliver. 

Let's be honest. Life's busy. A weekly juggle of lunchboxes, Mt. laundry and "have you seen my other shoe?" Finding spare hours to give back to your school can feel a stretch. It's exactly why the P&C is rethinking how things run, and looking to make volunteering easier, whether that's helping a single event, popping into meetings, or considering a future committee gig.

We'll share this journey with you. Why? Because "the P&C" can feel like a mystery to some. So stay tuned for news, changes and updates here. With clarity and insight we can find ways together, whether big or small, to kick some goals that support our kids school experience.

🙋A little time, a lot of impact

As the committee looks ahead, we're putting the call out for more P&C volunteers. 

Every event, regardless of size, takes heads, hearts, hands and hours behind the scenes to deliver. Surprise tasks, logistics and admin. To help create more events, we need support.

If you're passionate about the experience for students and our community, have a think what event ideas, hours and help you might be able to contribute - whether that's a little or a lot! Is there a micro-event you'd like to run, or some grand idea? Think small, big, and in between.

If we can build a bigger volunteer parent army, we'll be able to consider more events.

🩷 A Mother's Day stall note

To every mum, step-mum, grandmum, auntie, carer, mum-to-be, and every mum-figure in our PBSS family: thank you, and happy mothers day. To those missing their mum this year, or whose arms feel a little emptier, we hope your day is gentle and filled with love. 

With our need for volunteers and event support, and with our new committee sorting plans and event calendars for the year ahead, P&C won't be able to run a Mother's Day stall this year. We know it's a beautiful tradition, and also gives kids a nice feel good moment. We look forward to introducing new P&C volunteers, so we can keep these types of traditions alive.

🛝 2027 'pre-prep' playdates

If you're enrolling your child into prep in 2027, or know someone who is... read on! 

In the spirit of building community, having fun and helping kids transition to prep with familiar faces and greater ease, check out this monthly play group at Mallawa Sports fields. 

This is organised by a few local mums who want to connect, support the transition to school for kids, and help them build bonds 'pre prep'. Text Hayley 0422 850 428 to RSVP.

📧 New P&C email addresses

We're updating some 'tech stuff' and have changed our email domain to pbsspandc.org . 

If you have the old emails saved, please change them now.  Our key contact for questions, meeting info, feedback, membership or volunteering, is now secretary@pbsspandc.org 

❤️‍🩹 Lifesaving defibrillator win

The P&C has secured a grant for a defibrillator at PBSS. Our huge thanks go to our local Division 13 Councillor Josh Martin for backing this one. It's the kind of equipment you hope to never need, but in a cardiac emergency, minutes matter, so having one on site is handy. It arrives soon, then we'll let you know where it's located, and hopefully, it's never needed.
