Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,

Statewide Inclusive Education Services (SIES) has a wonderful range of supports available for children with disability and learning difficulties. With the school holidays approaching, this could be a great opportunity for families to explore the supports available through SIES. 

One of the most helpful services SIES offers is its family resource library. Families can borrow a variety of resources to support their child’s learning, development and wellbeing at home. These resources are designed to work alongside classroom learning and provide practical ideas and strategies for everyday family life. Borrowing resources to use at home over the break may help children continue building skills in a relaxed and familiar environment.

Resources available through SIES include:

• educational games and numeracy/literacy kits
• social and emotional regulation supports
• gross and fine motor resources
• assistive technology tools and sensory aids
• visual supports, including communication boards and social stories
• books on inclusive education and parenting strategies
