International Student Program Update

International Students – Learning and Exploring
Our international students have been actively involved in a range of learning experiences at Mordialloc College recently.
STEM – Robotics Challenge
In STEM, students worked collaboratively with local students in a Robotics Challenge to invent, design and build a microcomputer device that solves a real-world problem. Using LEGO EV3, students developed their creativity, problem-solving and teamwork skills through hands-on learning.
Science – Chemical Reactions
In Science, students investigated the rate of chemical reactions by comparing three different antacids – Rennie, Eno and Mylanta. They used hydrochloric acid and universal indicator to observe changes in pH over time. The practical experiment gave students the opportunity to apply their science knowledge and develop their skills in recording and analysing results.
Year 9 – Morrisby Test
Our Year 9 international students also took part in the Morrisby test, which helps students explore their career interests, strengths and future pathways. Several pre-service teachers joined us to support our international students by explaining questions and helping them understand unfamiliar English. Their support helped students feel more confident throughout the assessment.
These experiences have provided our international students with opportunities to learn, collaborate and build confidence as members of the Mordialloc College community.
