Learning with Grade 1/2 Students

The 1/2's have been engaging in great learning! 

In English we have been working hard to extend and apply our sound knowledge to reading and writing within our different groups. We have also been exploring the text, ' The Shop Train' and just moved onto a new story, 'The Terrible Suitcase' which is helping us learn how to write different types of sentences.

In Maths we have been developing our understanding of place value. We have been utilising MAB blocks to create portraits and animals! We then take our creations and write out what we used in place value form and the digit for example 1h, 5t, 6u = 156.

As always, we have continued learning how to be kind and caring friends as well as identifying our personal strengths and ways to be mindful.
