From the Principal's desk

As we make our way to the end of term one it has been fantastic to see our classrooms settle into strong classroom routines. All of our classes start the day with a morning circle routine and then move straight into their literacy block. Our teachers work together to ensure our routines are consistent for all students.
Harmony Week - "Culture Connects us All"
Next week is Harmony Week. On Tuesday all students are invited to add a splash of orange to their uniform. We will be running buddy activities from 2pm, all parents are welcome to join in the activities.
School Council 2026
We are still looking for parents to join school council. If you would like to know any information, please contact the office. There are only two meetings each term and they run for approximately 1 hour.
It is a great opportunity to learn about how the school operates, and how you can be part of decisions made for the benefit of all students across Numurkah Primary School.
Congratulations to these parents who are returning to school council for 2026-2027: Rhiannon Few and Danielle Gundrill.
Easter Raffle
Tickets for the Easter raffle have been sent home with families. If any families need another book of tickets, please call into the office. There will be a prize for the class who has the most donations, Easter craft is always popular. All donations need to be dropped to the office by the 27th of March, with the raffle being drawn on the 2nd of April.
NAPLAN
Congratulations to our Year 3 and 5 students on completing their NAPLAN tests for 2026. Any students who have been absent will have the opportunity to complete make-up tests in the next week.
Parents and Friends:
We would like to engage as many families as possible and invite all members of the family to be a part of our Parents and Friends committee. We understand that some families can't make meetings during the school day, however, there are many ways you can be a part and support our school. If you would like to help our school, please give the office a call to discuss ways you could help out.
School Uniform:
I would like to remind students and families of our uniform policy. All students need to be present at school in full school uniform. I have attached the uniform policy to the end of the newsletter. We want all students to wear our uniform with pride. Green school bucket hats must be worn outside during term 1, please purchase your child a new hat if they have lost or misplaced theirs.
