Harmony Week

Harmony Week is an annual celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity and the benefits it brings to the Australian community. This year Harmony Week will be held from 16th to 2st March.

Harmony Week is a time to celebrate that Australia is one of the most successful multicultural societies in the world. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Celebrating our diversity

As a culturally diverse and inclusive community at St Andrew’s we will celebrate Harmony Week with various classroom activities and on Friday the 20th of March we invite our students to wear their National Dress or, to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia, students can wear something orange, the official colour of Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
