Eating at school

We love healthy eating at Albanvale Primary School as we know nutritious lunches and snacks feed our brains and bodies helping us concentrate, learn and play!
Students at Albanvale need to bring a snack and lunch to school everyday, along with a bottle of water. Students do not have access to microwave, hot water (for safety reasons) nor cutlery at school. If your child requires cutlery to eat their lunch please provide them disposable cutlery (not knives).
We encourage all students to have a healthy lunchbox with something from each food group (fruit, vegetables, milk/yoghurt/cheese, meat/protein, grains/cereals, water). Check out some examples below:
Encourage your child to be involved in packing their lunch box. It's a great way to help them understand what a balanced meal looks like, and why we should aim to eat certain foods. Having that ownership of preparing their lunchboxes may even encourage them to try some foods they may not have otherwise.
