General Information

Term 2 Uniform

Students may continue to wear their summer school uniform in Term 2. We will officially change into winter uniform after the long weekend in June. We ask that whichever uniform your child elects to wear, that they wear the full uniform correctly - please do not mix summer and winter uniform items. Thank you for your support with this matter.

Meeting with Teachers

Mornings and afternoons are very busy times for teachers as they are preparing for the day ahead and planning with their co-teachers, which unfortunately means that they are often unable to make time for a meeting without notice.  For that reason, if you need to discuss anything with your child's teacher, please contact the school office to schedule an appointment. This will ensure you have the full attention of the teachers and the time necessary. Alternatively, an email can be sent to sjtadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au and will be forwarded onto the class teacher.

Student Support

National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

Please see the important fact sheet below on the National Consistent Collection of Data, a census that occurs for schools each year in August. In the lead up to the NCCD, we will be reviewing the support systems and processes in our school that guide the adjustments we put in place to ensure that students with a disability receive access to education on the same basis as other students.

P&F News

At the recent P&F meeting, members heard from the school about several initiatives that would benefit the wider school community. As a result, the P&F agreed to fund a new portable yarning circle, purchase a boom box to support sound at discos and school events such as the Easter Hat Parade, and book author Cameron Steltzer to visit early next year to deliver engaging literacy workshops for students.  We are so grateful to all of the St Joseph's families who continue to support P&F fundraising initiatives.

P&F Meeting

The P&F plays an important role in building community by organising social events and supporting the school through fundraising activities. We encourage everyone to become involved in the P&F Association. We have a wonderful committee so we encourage our parent body to come along and support our marvellous P&F this year.

Our next P&F meeting is Tuesday,  4th August at 5:30pm in the staffroom.

Attendance Matters

Education is important and regular attendance at school is essential for your child to achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier as they are able to build on what was learned the day before. Just one day missed per fortnight equates to one whole year over a child's school life!

Arriving at school on time is also important. Classes start at 8:45am so students should arrive at least ten minutes prior to this to ensure they have time to put their bags away and greet their friends. Arriving after the bell disrupts the flow of the class and important daily reminders and learning opportunities are missed.

Schools, in partnerships with families, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students and for ensuring that non-attendance is addressed effectively. Thank you for prioritising your children’s attendance at school and please do not hesitate to contact us if you require support in this area.
