It was with profound sadness that we learnt on Sunday of Peter Aitken’s passing. His wife Leelani, along with his children Noah (Year 6) and Grace (Year 8) remain in our thoughts and prayers. We are thankful to a number of our families who supported Lani and the kids during Pete’s illness. As a school community we ask God to surround the Aitken family with his gentle love.

A sincere thank you to the Prep Team for organising the event and to the support staff for their hard work preparing the day.

Congratulations to the 36 students from Year 3 - 6 who represented St John’s last Wednesday May 6th at the District Cross Country. Students travelled by bus to the Werribee Racecourse to compete. The students are to be congratulated on the positive way they approached the day and all students should feel very proud of their efforts. A special congratulations goes to the 12 students who have qualified to compete at the upcoming divisional cross country. Below is a picture from the day.

YEAR 6 ECONOMICS INCURSION
On Thursday 30th April, our Year 6 students took part in an engaging incursion as part of their Economics unit. The students worked in teams to buy, make and sell goods, helping them understand how supply, demand, and government decisions affect outcomes. They also explored the difference between needs and wants. Through fun, interactive games, they built their teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a real-world context. As you can see from these pictures the students were very engaged in the session:

We received the wonderful news that Mrs Milkovic’s baby has arrived safely. Karen and Dean welcomed their beautiful daughter, Ivanna Elora, to the family on Friday 8th of May. Both baby and Mum are doing well and Myles is a very proud big brother!

Congratulations to Jessica Gatt who recently celebrated her marriage to Dan. We wish them all the best for the years ahead and ask God to bless them as they walk life’s journey together.

Students will be exploring how screen time can make us feel, the importance of sleep, and why we need to balance screen time with green time.
