Child Safeguarding

As part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and safety, we are pleased to share a couple of important updates with our SME community.
Our dedicated wellbeing email safe@smechuca.catholic.edu.au is up and running. This provides another avenue for learners to seek support, ask questions, or raise concerns in a safe and supported way. We encourage learners to use this option if they feel more comfortable reaching out in writing, knowing that their message will be responded to by a trusted member of our wellbeing team.
Families and learners may also notice updated 4 Critical Actions resources displayed around the school. These are being refreshed in line with the Victorian Government’s PROTECT guidelines for schools. These materials support a consistent, clear approach to responding to safety and wellbeing concerns and help ensure that everyone in our community understands how to recognise and act on concerns appropriately.
We encourage families to continue having open conversations at home about safety, trusted adults, and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe.
