With fantastic weather conditions throughout the day, students were able to perform at their very best and demonstrate excellent determination, resilience, and sportsmanship.

A great effort by our Year 5 and 6 teams competing in Hooptime at Dandenong Stadium on Thursday 14th May.  Maramba Primary School proudly had four teams compete in the Hooptime Basketball competition. Throughout the day, all students represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork, effort, and determination in every game they played.

It was fantastic to see the improvement shown by all teams across the day as students grew in confidence, communicated well with teammates, and applied the basketball skills they have been practising at school. Most importantly, students supported one another, played fairly, and enjoyed the opportunity to compete against other schools.

Each team should be congratulated for the positive attitude and persistence they displayed throughout the tournament. Whether winning or losing, students continued to encourage each other and showed resilience in challenging moments. The day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their teamwork, game awareness, and confidence in a competitive environment.

The following results were achieved by our Maramba teams:

  • Girls Future Stars 1st Place-Tournament winners
  • Boys Future Stars 3rd Place
  • Rookies 1-lots of improvement (non finals section)
  • Rookies 2-lots of improvement (non finals section)
