For My Mother

A Child’s Prayer

Dear Blessed Mother Mary,

please help my mum to be a good mother.

Give her peace and wisdom,

strength and courage,

grace and happiness.

Be close to her when she needs help.

Keep her near to your Son Jesus.

Help me to always show my mum

how very much I love her.

Amen.

Mothers Day

There was such a lovely atmosphere here on Thursday morning as we welcomed our mums, grandmothers and mother figures for our Mothers Day Breakfast and Liturgy. It is always one of those occasions where you can feel the strength of our community simply by watching the children’s faces as they spot the people who matter most to them. Thank you for making the time to be with us.

Rudyard Kipling, Nobel Prize winning author, known to me as the author of The Jungle Book,  famously wrote “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.”

Kipling’s words feel especially fitting as we reflect on the steady, everyday influence our mothers and mother figures have on our children.

CARE Motto Launch

Wednesday was a genuinely energising day for our students as we officially launched our CARE Motto. What stood out most was how naturally the children stepped into the spirit of the day. They already understand that at St Margaret Mary’s we care. We care about our learning, we care about one another and we care about the way we move through the world.

Over the past term we have worked with students and staff to shape CARE into an acronym that reflects the way we want to work and learn together. We landed on Collaborative, Accountable, Reflective and Engaged.

These are not just words on a wall. They are the qualities we want our children to practise daily, and Wednesday’s activities brought them to life in a very real way. Thank you for supporting your children to wear their colour house shirts and sports shorts. It helped create a sense of belonging and made the day feel special for them.

Winter Uniform Transition

Mothers Day also marks our shift from summer to winter uniforms. Thank you to everyone who supported our second hand uniform stall on Thursday. Whether you donated items, purchased uniforms or helped out on the day, your contribution was genuinely appreciated. All profits go directly back to the school and the afternoon was a great success.

A special thank you to Amy Teagle Milly Year 2 for initiating the stall and for the time she has put into running the uniform shop this term. Her efforts have made a real difference for families.
